Travel North to Hokkaido from the new Mt. Fuji Shizuoka Airport

The runway is still short so they were about the cancel the flight b/c of the fog... the plane wasn't rated to land at that short a landing strip in fog, but as the morning wore on visibility went to several miles and our plane landed and took us out no problem. If they had cancelled our flight we would have been out of luck. At best we could have taken a long bus ride, then a train to another airport and bought another ticket. When we got to Hokkaido and drove to the Noboribetsu Onsen we were surrounded by fog. Good thing we got here when we did.
